Pavement monitor NEO

NEO's pavement monitor is in the air! This monitor was created with the aim of providing policymakers, managers and consultants, among others, with data (numbers and locations) on the distribution of paving in the Netherlands, initially as a component for analyses concerning water management, green space management and sustainability, but of course not limited to those applications.

In this national coverage file, we have divided the surface into surfacing classes within both private sites (gardens, business parks) and public spaces. In doing so, we distinguish between closed pavement, open pavement, unpaved terrain, water and buildings. The data has a level of detail that is at least equivalent to that of the BGT, but enhanced with aerial and satellite photo analysis for high-quality subdivision between paving types on, for example, BGT properties (private land).

From now on, we will continuously update the monitor based on satellite images and other sources such as the BGT. Changes reported by municipalities themselves will be processed real-time in the pavement monitor and every time a new satellite image becomes available, it will be analysed and the results included.

Like our other recent services, we unlock the data via API. With this, you are free to use the data yourself in your desired way, to analyse, visualise, report, publish, etc.
If you are interested in the service within, say, a municipality, at a specific address or for the whole country, you can request it from us.
We also have a demo available for you. Would you like to take a look, or know more about the service? If so, please contact Loek van Oijen, loek.vanoijen@neo.nl or 033-2100700
