NEO B.V. endorses the urgency of CO2 reduction to limit climate change. We chart our CO2 emissions, formulate goals and take reduction measures. We also encourage our suppliers and customers to also make an effort to reduce CO2. Since August 2020, NEO has been certified for level 3 of the CO2 performance ladder.
Over the period 2020-2022, we had set ourselves a target to reduce CO2 emissions by 25% compared to 2019. That is, reduce 25% CO2 emissions for scope 1 and reduce 25% CO2 emissions for scope 2. We also link the target and progress in reducing CO2 emissions to our revenue growth. We are pleased to have achieved this target with 50,53% more than achieved. For 2023-2025, a further reduction of 15% is targeted. This will be achieved with the same set of measures as the previous period. Over 2024, we have achieved a reduction of 21.8% compared to 2022.
As part of the CO2 performance ladder, the footprint has been mapped. NEO's footprint in 2024 can be here be downloaded.
SECTOR INITIATIVES
Energy Transition and Climate Platform Geobusiness Netherlands
The Energy Transition and Climate platform is one of the spearheads of GeoBusiness Netherlands, the trade association for companies working with geo-information. The platform focuses on CO2 reduction and knowledge sharing -from a centrally organised energy sector to a decentralised energy market.
All solar panels in the Netherlands on the map
At Solar panels on the map we show all solar panels in the Netherlands and monitor their development. Their stormy development is a factor in the energy transition. It is important for all of us to have information on this subject available and not to use 'fake data'. Hence, the data is accessible to everyone via a public map viewer and reports can be made by anyone.
Landscape elements register
Finally, NEO participates in the Cooperative Tree Register, and the recently established landscape elements register. In the landscape elements register, we map green and blue landscape elements with a large group of stakeholders. Green elements in particular are, of course, essential for CO2 storage. With the register, we want to provide insight into the current state of affairs, offer tools to plan measures (such as construction of new elements) and monitor progress. Data and knowledge will be exchanged to shape the joint and societal goal of strengthening the countryside.
