Whether you are a municipality, insurer or contractor: reliable information on buildings is indispensable. With the Buildings Register, you get access to a complete dataset of all buildings in the Netherlands, based on BAG and BGT and supplemented by NEO's own detections and smart analyses.
One central data source with all buildings in the Netherlands, based on BAG & BGT, enriched with NEO's own detections, with addresses as well as risk factors.
Based on BAG, BGT, aerial photos, satellite images and own remote sensing/image analysis.
Detections of building features such as dormers, solar panels, type of roof and material, façade features, etc.
Determine risk indicators (such as flooding, shading, run-off) based on location, environment and building characteristics.
Seamless integration with existing GIS and BI systems makes use in your own work processes easy.
Periodic updates, checking for changes, transparency in quality score.
For insurers, up-to-date and complete building data is essential. The Buildings Register provides instantly useful information for risk analyses, underwriting policies and premium calculations.
The dataset makes it easy to identify vulnerable locations, such as buildings near water, trees or high-voltage cables. Specific features, such as roof type, material or presence of solar panels, also provide additional insight into damage sensitivity and prevention possibilities.

In construction and renovation projects, understanding existing buildings is crucial. Building Register supports the estimating renovation and sustainability opportunities, determining the solar potential of roofs, and planning maintenance.
3D roof surfaces and accurate geometry allow developers to create realistic models for energy performance calculations, rezoning and investment decisions.
Researchers and students use the Buildings Register as a rich resource for analysis on energy, climate and urban development.
From shadow simulations and air quality to energy use and urbanisation issues, the combination of national coverage and level of detail makes the register unique.
Reliable information on buildings is indispensable for water and climate management. The Buildings Register allows water boards and consultancies to include buildings in flood modelling, heat stress testing and climate adaptation strategies.
It is easy to analyse scenarios such as the impact of heavy precipitation on certain neighbourhoods or the role of roofs in water drainage and energy generation.
The Buildings Register is a national data source containing all buildings in the Netherlands, compiled from the official BAG (Basisregistratie Adressen en Gebouwen), the BGT (Basisregistratie Grootschalige Topografie) and NEO's own detections from aerial and satellite imagery.
The dataset has been further enriched with additional features such as addresses, dormers, solar panels, roof types, risk indicators and 3D geometry. This creates a complete, up-to-date and practically applicable overview of the built environment.

The BAG and BGT provide the basis, but contain limitations: not every building has an address, and additional features such as dormers, roof material or solar panels are missing.
NEO combines and enriches these sources with its own object detection, aerial photo analysis and additional records, allowing up to 90% of the buildings has a correct address (versus about 70% in the standard BAG).
Moreover, additional features are added, allowing you to much more context information gets than in basic registrations alone.
NEO updates Buildings Register at least twice a year.
Mutations in BAG and BGT are processed automatically, and new detections (such as solar panels or dormers) are recognised via the latest aerial photographs and satellite images. This keeps the dataset constantly in line with the current situation in the field.
All entries in the Buildings Register are subject to a strict quality control.
Each enrichment has its own level of quality, with transparent metadata on provenance and accuracy.
Combining multiple sources (such as BAG, BGT, AHN and proprietary detections) creates a high reliability rate, suitable for policy decisions, insurance analysis and scientific research.
The Buildings Register is available via:
API - For direct linking to your own GIS or data systems;
Viewer - an online map environment to view, select and analyse buildings;
Dataset downloads - selections by municipality, region or nationwide.
The API allows dynamic queries such as "all buildings with solar panels within 100 metres of a watercourse".
The cost depends on the size of the area, the desired enrichments and the form of delivery (API, viewer or dataset).
