Bank and aquatic plant monitoring

Our vegetation along and in ditches and ponds is special and worth monitoring

Vegetation along banks and in the water is ecologically very important and a very dynamic element for the Netherlands. This vegetation also plays a role in the regulation of discharge, volume and frequency of dredging and scouring, water quality, biodiversity and recreational aspects regarding swimming and boating.

NEO provides water managers with information on quality and quantity of vegetation at many times of the year for all water bodies wider than 1 metre. We provide warning signals, maps, images, etc. The services are based on Open Data satellite imagery and AI analytics.
