About the Role
As a Financial Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate, complete and timely financial records. You will ensure that daily, monthly and annual financial transactions are correctly processed, monitored and reported and projects are fully up to date financially. For this, you will liaise with the project managers within our organisation.
You will play a key role in monitoring the financial health of the organisation and provide support with reporting, auditing and compliance. In doing so, you will work closely with colleagues within finance and other teams within the organisation.
What will you do?
- Process, control and record daily financial transactions.
- Manage and maintain general ledger and financial records.
- Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Monitor outstanding payments, invoices and payment deadlines.
- Perform bank, cash and general ledger reconciliations.
- Preparation of journal entries, accruals and period endings.
- Preparation of financial reports, statements and analyses.
- Monitor budgets and identify deviations.
- Support audits and financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal procedures and compliance requirements.
- Maintain structured and auditable financial records.
Who are we looking for?
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Experience in financial accounting, reconciliations and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Accurate, organised and proactive.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Experience with ERP or financial systems (AFAS).
- Affinity with a dynamic, growing organisation.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Experience with a project organisation
- Experience with grants is a big plus.
