Ever since 2015, NEO has been supporting several provinces in the enforcement of the Nature Protection Act, then the Forest Act. In recent years, our services have been continuously improved and expanded, partly thanks to the fine cooperation with our clients. We are very pleased to be able to add two new provinces again this year: the provinces of Fryslân and Groningen. In addition to the actual analyses for the Nature Conservation Act, we will carry out historical analyses and classification of forest types, among other things. We look forward to a fine cooperation!
The service will also be continued and further expanded for existing customers this year. For the province of Overijssel, we will continuously monitor the forest area in 2021 on the basis of satellite images and height data. Apart from giving the province quicker access to potentially relevant felling, this will also distribute the workload for the enforcement team better throughout the year.
