Trainee at NEO: Gözde Özgün

My name is Gözde Özgün and I started my internship at NEO in July. I received my undergraduate degree in geomatics from Hacettepe University, Turkey. I am very interested in the combination of Earth observation and 'deep learning' and for my graduation I worked on a project where we used convolutional neural networks to detect buildings on satellite images.

During my internship at NEO, I will delve further into this and investigate how deep-learning results (especially for building detection) based on satellite images and aerial photographs can be improved. I think it is an important field of work, especially as it can be useful for a lot of applications.

Curious what that will bring you?
