The GEO field is developing rapidly and has long since ceased to be the domain of scientists and theoretically-savvy specialists. There is also plenty of room for MBO+ employees! Together with Fervent, Esri Nederland, MUG Ingenieursbureau and branch association GeoBusiness Nederland, NEO is working within the framework of the SLIM subsidy scheme (Regeling Stimulering Leren en Ontwikkelen in MKB) to develop a Traineeship Geo ICT for MBO+ employees. With this traineeship, we enthuse and fascinate new (side-)entrants at MBO+ level to perform a function at MBO+ level in the geo sector.
On 25 November, a mini-Hackathon was organised as part of the Traineeship Geo ICT at NEO's office. The aim of the hackaton was to test the modules of the training programme using a real-life case study. The participants investigated which trees would have to give way during the planned modification to Groningen's southern ring road. They also developed an app to retrieve specific information from these trees in the field.
