About the GEO internship
NEO offers exciting internship opportunities in the Netherlands for students from higher professional education (HBO) and universities who are interested in earth observation (EO) applications. Our internships last from 10 weeks up to 6 months, depending on your availability and study requirements.
As an intern, you will work closely with an experienced project leader or technical supervisor. This ensures you get hands-on guidance and learn directly from industry experts.
Internship topics
At NEO, you can contribute to a variety of earth observation projects. Topics include:
- Agricultural monitoring
- Asset monitoring
- Forest classification
- Database set-up
- AI algorithm development
- Software development
This makes our programme ideal for students with different academic backgrounds such as geoinformation, computer science, AI, data science, or environmental studies.
Why choose Amersfoort?
Our modern office is located next to the central train station of Amersfoort, one of the 15 largest cities in the Netherlands with over 158,000 residents.
Amersfoort sacrifices:
- A vibrant mix of architecture, history, art, culture, and nature
- The only largely intact medieval old town in the Netherlands
- Central location with excellent train and car connections to Amsterdam, Utrecht, and beyond
Student housing and allowance
Most students stay in a furnished room during their internship. NEO has strong connections with local housing agencies and can help you find accommodation.
We also offer:
- An internship allowance, depending on your education level
- Reimbursement of daily travel costs
Work culture at NEO
At NEO, you will join a team of passionate and open-minded young professionals. You will experience what it's like to work in a dynamic, innovative, and challenging environment where your ideas matter.
