A change on the Earth's surface is detectable on these photos primarily as a change in colour and texture. In reality, of course, objects are not two- but three-dimensional. Changes often affect the 3D shape of objects. An installed dormer, parked car or new speed bump all bring about change in the 3D surface of the earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From aerial photos taken in stereo, NEO generates elevation models, also known as Digital Surface Models (DSMs). We do this from now on with our own cloud solution, country-wide and at high resolution. We use these DSMs to improve our services. Examples include updating the height of trees and other green landscape elements, finding more mutations in buildings, and reconstructing roof shapes in places where the Actueel Hoogtebestand Nederland (AHN4) is already outdated.
