The unique Dutch landscape is under pressure. This has negative consequences for cultural value, biodiversity, CO2 storage and water quality. Ongoing initiatives to strengthen the landscape often lack good information on its status. Information is scarce and highly fragmented among public and private organisations.

Together with partners from the Tree register we have the Landscape elements register which defines the green and blue elements in the rural area. This gives you a uniform insight into the current situation (what is the current percentage of green-blue veining), and provides a basis for future monitoring
