Updating map objects is labour-intensive and precise work. So is finding and interpreting the changes, but quite different in nature. It is then smart to carry out change detection and interpretation in a separate action.We call that action change detection: Where does a map object change (was/is becoming) and what should the follow-up action be?
However, the risk with conventional solar potential analyses is that they only look at the roof itself, but not at what is already on the roof. Sometimes we see in aerial and satellite photos that roofs are already so full of cooling towers, dormers, skylights, chimneys and facade maintenance installations that there is hardly any room left for solar panels.
